Doctors

Dr. Shaun Freeman, DDS

Dr. Shaun Freeman grew up in Merrillville, Indiana and graduated from Merrillville High School in 2005. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, and completed his dental studies at Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, IN.

Dr. Shaun began his career practicing dentistry in Tampa, Florida but has returned to practice in Indiana to be close to his and his wife’s family. Dr. Shaun provides quality, comprehensive dental care to patients of the community.

Dr. Shaun enjoys spending time with friends and family, exercising on his Peloton bike, golf, and is a fan of the Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Indiana University basketball.

Dr. Maya Gendlin Freeman, DDS

Dr. Maya Gendlin Freeman is a Northwest Indiana native, graduating from Munster High School. She graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2014, and has spent the latter half of her career practicing in Crown Point, IN.

She is passionate about lifetime care, and establishing meaningful relationships with her patients. She is excited to offer care in all phases of dentistry, including Botox and Juvéderm filler treatment.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and her dogs, Olive and Kiwi. She also loves traveling.

Jamie

Hi, my name is Jamie. I have been working for two years in the dental field as a front desk coordinator. I love greeting patients and enhancing their dental experience. In my spare time, I love shopping, eating Mexican food, and spending time with my husband and Golden Doodle Nova. We are enjoying renovating our 100-year-old house into a farmhouse in Wanatah and going to auctions.

Kelly

Hi, I’m Kelly! I have been in the dental field for seven years! I joined Sand Creek dental in 2021 as a front desk team member. I specialize in working with our patients and helping them with all their insurance and scheduling needs. Providing great customer service is my highest priority! When I’m not at the office I love spending time with my son and I enjoy running and being outdoors.

Denise

Hi, I’m Denise. I am delighted to be a part of the Sand Creek Dental team. I bring with me 30 plus years of working with people, six of which have been in the dental field. I enjoy getting to know each patient and their families and making them feel welcome and strive to making their dental visit a pleasurable one. When I am not working, I enjoy camping and spending time with my 3 grandkids.

Kelly Ann

Hi, my name is Kelly Ann and this is my first year in dental as a front desk coordinator. I have loved getting to know the patients at Sand Creek Dental and look forward to meeting new patients as they come and join the Sand Creek Dental family. In my spare time, I love to cycle and I am always up for an adventure and travel. I have 6 amazing children and 7 grandchildren who light up my world.

Sara

Hi, I’m Sara. I have been with Sand Creek Dental since 2006. I received my associate of science degree in dental hygiene from Indiana University Northwest. I’m from Portage, Indiana. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three daughters in the sunshine at the pool. I love being a hygienist because of the connections I’ve made with our patients over the years and I am proud to be part of a practice that provides high-quality dentistry in a caring environment.

Marci

Hi, my name is Marci. I am a dental hygienist who has worked at Sand Creek Dental since 2012. My husband and I live in Chesterton where we have raised our two children. We love to walk our dog at Dunes State Park and other area trails. I love that dentistry can have a positive impact on someone’s smile. I’m glad to be part of a team that feels like family.

Angie

Hi, my name is Angie. I received my associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from Indiana University in 2012. My husband and I live in Valparaiso where we are raising our daughter. We love to hike and camp and anything outdoors. I love being a hygienist because I think it’s important to help patients feel comfortable while receiving care.

Liz

I have been a Dental Assistant for many years. My dental training started in 1990 at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. I love educating my patients about dentistry – it is a big part of people’s health. I pride myself on staying well educated within my field so I can better serve the people around me. There is nothing more satisfying to me than to put a smile on someone’s face and calm their fears. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, and grandchildren. I also love traveling, running and church activities.

Kaylee

Hi, I’m Kaylee! I’ve been a dental assistant since 2018. The thing I love most about this career is being able to build relationships with my patients and help build their confidence in their smiles. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out at the lake and going to country music concerts as well as being with my friends and family!

Christian

Hi, my name is Christian. I have been a dental assistant since 2004. I enjoy patient engagement and building a rapport with patients, while providing care and information to them. In my free time I coach youth sports and am the Athletic Director at my sons school. I love weightlifting, traveling, and trying out new foods.

Niki

Hey, I’m Niki! I’ve been a dental assistant since 2014, and an EFDA through the Indiana University Program since 2016. The thing I love most about this job is the comfort and education I can bring to patients. In my free time I love to craft, garden, and spend time with my friends & family.
